The best laid plans....

I have been called in to work the rest of the week so I won't have time to prepare my blog.  Hopefully, I can start posting Monday.

Changes to blog

I have been thinking of how I can use this blog to help me get some projects done and be of some use to those of you who are following it.  Starting June 1st, I will try to do like my friend Joan at http://joansdailystampede.blogspot.com/ and have a theme for each day.  I have put together a list of things I'd like to try. Some of these may not work and I will have to rethink things, but at least for now, this is how I plan to have my blog organized.  I may not post every day when things get busy, but I do hope to post often.  Thanks to my friend Kris who helped me come up with some of these ideas.

  • Sunday - Scrapbook Sunday
  • Monday - Mojo Monday (from  http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ )
  • Tuesday - Texture Tuesday
  • Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday (this will be funny card and cards for kids)
  • Thursday - Tasty/Tricky Tuesday (recipes and recipe cards, and other tips and tricks)
  • Friday - Fun with Color Q  (from http://colourq.blogspot.com/)
  • Saturday - Save a.....Saturday (save a stamp by making a flat card, also recycling something, using scraps, etc.)

Color Q challenge

This card was inspired by a card I saw on the Color Q challenge.  I used some non-Stampin' Up supplies but all the papers, stamp, and ribbon from Stampin' Up.  Before I became a demonstrator, I used to mix all my 8 1/2" x 11" paper together.  When I went to make cards today, I picked up a piece of paper that I had filed as Real Red, but as soon as I felt it and looked at it, I could tell it was not Stampin' Up.  I am so impressed by the difference in quality between theirs and the paper you buy at craft stores.
Hope you like my card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

  • Always Artichoke CS, Pear Pizzazz CS, Daffodil Delight CS, Whisper White CS
  • Tangerine Tango Ink and Daffodil Delight Ink
  • Daffodil Delight Ribbon, Blossom Punch,  McGill leaf punch, Basic Rhinestones

Masculine Birthday

Since yesterday's card was so feminine, I thought I would try a masculine birthday card today.  I love this stamp set.  It seems like I never have enough masculine birthday cards.  I think next time I will play around with some browns but I thought the newsprint paper would go perfect with the ship.

First Post

I am finally getting around to posting something on my blog.  I made this card based on the sketch from Mojo Monday: http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/

I am a new Stampin Up demonstrator but have loved their products for a long time.  For this card, I used some older (but beautiful) designer series paper.  I have had a sneak peek at their new papers and I love them. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Supplies:

  • Very Vanilla CS, Baja Breeze CS, River Rock CS, Springtime Vintage DSP, vellum
  • Mixed Bunch and Elementary Elegance Stamp sets
  • Baja Breeze Ink, Not Quite Navy Ink, and Versamark with clear embossing powder
  • Baja Breeze pleated Satin Ribbon, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by.
